- CrabbypattyExplorerMy dad got a ticket for doing 25 in a 45 in Florida. It is actually dangerous when you approach someone driving slow and your at rated speed. It could cause a bad accident. When I cannot maintain rated speed like going up a hill, I use flashers. It's safer and you will never get a ticket that way.

You are the one who needs a refresher on your "Civics". Innocent until proven guilty is the Legal standard we apply in a criminal proceeding. This means the accused does not have to prove himself innocent, as opposed to the requirement to prove your innocence in Napoleonic law. Innocent until proven guilty mean the prosecution must prove the accused committed the crime, nothing more.westernrvparkowner wrote:

It only took 3 pages, but thank you, we finally have a reasonable response. Makes you wonder why there is any crime in this country at all, since EVERYONE is apparently 100% innocent of any wrong doing and are on the express lane to sainthood.
Wow.....Are some of you THAT naïve. This was a dope dealer. They stopped him, but didn't find dope. This doesn't just happen to Joe citizen driving down the road. How many of you drive around with $167K stashed in your vehicle. Suddenly, many of you have made him out as a full timer enjoying his retirement when he gets caught up with the police for no reason.....really!!!
I guarantee that if you could see the driver's record, he has a long list of dope convictions. This article is printed from the side of the driver, where law enforcement is never asked or is not willing to discuss the case, but the media likes to print what looks like an outrageous story.
This is a defense version of the story and is no different than what you hear from a mass murderer's defense attorney. Telling you he was a choir boy and model citizen.
Ever had a "Civics" class?
"Innocent until proven guilty ring any bells"?
SMH
We have never, ever treated suspects as if they were completely innocent. We routinely lock up murder suspects until their trial. We routinely take what is believed to be stolen property away from thieves without a trial. And we routinely impound and freeze assets from suspected drug dealers, embezzlers, con men and other assorted lowlifes long before they are found guilty.
The very idea that everyone should be treated as innocent until they are proven guilty is ridiculous. Do you really think the police should give the gun back to a spree killer and let him walk free or let a bank robber spend his ill gotten gains until his trial under the theory that they are "innocent" until they are found guilty at trial? - msmith1199Explorer IIThat is usually the criteria for closing a thread! Or at least it seems to be at times.

This is all about the traffic stop of a Class A RV. It just wandered a little, but the point is still the same. - msmith1199Explorer II

Sounds like a "wall stop." Somebody knew he was transporting cash and tipped off the authorities.
The second stop was exactly that, but the tipper was the first state trooper. The second stop was treated as a wall stop and that is apparently what upset the Judge at one point. - ljr869ExplorerSounds like a "wall stop." Somebody knew he was transporting cash and tipped off the authorities.
