It would take some work, your doors now with the latch will not work, where would you find new doors to fit that opening for a side open door on that year.

Why would you even consider doing this, my doors lift up and that works fine for me, side open doors look as if they will be in the way.

Not sure I would do it unless you have a real good reason too. I have one large door that opens up and one that is split down the middle and opens to the sides due to there being a slide above it. Guess which one lets water in. Not the one that has the hinge all the way across the top.

Depending on how they are mounted I would think the easiest and best looking solution is to remove the existing doors and buy new doors and frames that are side opening. That sounds pricey simply to change how they open.
