He may have insurance but good luck trying to find out about it.It's not the coverage, it's the trust that you had that they would take care of your property. If only two people are allowed to move anything inside, why would they both say they don't know what happened? It's not bothering me that it happened, it's just you kind of know they did it and won't even talk to you about it. They are more upset about me bringing it up then I am.
The estimate to repair the fender is only $2200. which doesn't include the three basement doors, After paying next years rent and being told to look elsewhere and they say no refunds on rental payment. - lryrob9301ExplorerExactly where is this storage facility that carries no liability insurance?? I've never herd of a business that carries no insurance!!
- PF_PMExplorerHa ! Yes we've had a repair shop rub the mirrors on the entrance door and deny responsibility. At the storage yard all that has happened is the theft of our nice chrome valve stem caps from the tires.. but just goes to show they were out there looking !
- KlueckExplorerI'm afraid you will have to notify your insurance company and file through them. I doubt very seriously the storage lot will admit fault. It's possible your insurance company could subrogate against them, but it's a case of he said, he said and unfortunately you have no proof. I'm sure they have something stating they are not responsible for damage and since "insurance follows the vehicle" your insurance will be responsible. Sorry
- Archie_KravitzExplorerIt wasn't damaged going in and was damaged before it moved out and they are denying it was done. What are you going to do? You can't prove anything and their contract says they carry no insurance,all damage is on you. I have insurance,but if they would just come up with the part that was tore off the fender it wouldn't be a big deal,but they said they didn't do it and they don't have the piece. It even bent the steps.. I paid up another year storage before I found it out and when I told them I just couldn't leave it there anymore they sent me a contract where it says NO REFUNDS. Nice bunch, wouldn't you say. I've been there 6 years. Great loyalty. I guess it's all over money. Somebody drove it or moved it. I wonder if they hit someone else's coach and are doing the same to them. I guess I'll never know.
They have a policy that only the owner and Son can move coaches in and out. Thought that was a good idea so as no one else is playing demolition derby. I know if I damaged someone else's coach, I would let them know.That's why I have insurance. Accidents happen. - RayChezExplorerI have a friend that went to pick up his fifth wheel trailer that was in storage and he noticed that who ever was parked next to his trailer had caught the rear corner and it pulled the bead that holds the back cap and the side wall out about six inches. He complained to the storage place owners and they said they were not responsible for the damage.
So between me and my friend we fixed it with no problem, but the storage place did not want nothing to do with repairs.
So now my friend parks it for storage at a much better place with a nice enclosed building, shaded away from any sun or other damage. - lryrob9301ExplorerDoesn't make much difference, if they parked it, and pulled it out, it's their problem to get it fixed to YOUR satisfaction. I would suspect your going to get all kinds of hassles about the damage being there when you brought it in and such. Just ask to see the arrival inspection report that shows the damage and your signature to same. That will end that discussion.
- et2ExplorerNo. We move our own. I'd never trust another with my keys. I hate leaving it when going in for service. I go over it well when Picking it up.
