Stayed at an RV park in West Virginia that had goats wandering loose around the park. Since our dog is bigger than the goats, it was no problem but she did look at them a little strange.
On that same noe, there is an RV park in Whittington, Illinois, that had chickens running around loose. The park manager did give us a half dozen fresh eggs at check in but the dog never did get used to chickens running all around and under our RV.
While staying at an RV park in Cut Bank, Montana we were located up on a bluff that overlooked the river, several hundred feet below. The winds coming through the area are pretty strong and we were warned, and there are signs, that tell you NEVER to put out any awnings at any time. No problem for us since it was Winter and pretty cool. After our first night, a young couple came in and was setting up their tent near the edge of the bluff for a really outstanding view of the area. They were dressed warmly and we could tell that this was not their first time out camping. They had the tent set up, which is pretty easy now with the pop up type tents, and had succeeded in loading the tent with their sleeping bags and a few other personal items. While they were getting more of their belongings out of their SUV, a gust of wind blew in and the tent looked like a balloon as it was launched over the cliff towards the river below. As it cleared the cliff and started to fall, the wall blocked the wind and it dropped straight down to the rocky edge. After a lot of climbing, the couple was able to retrieve all of their belongings with most everything staying in the tent, that was unzipped. No damage done.
While staying at the downtown RV park in Sturgis, SD we watched our neighbor unloading his Harley out of his trailer. He had the ramp down and for some reason he decided that it was prudent to back the bike down slowly while sitting on it. As the rear wheel went down the ramp and hit the ground, it reached the point where the rear wheel was on the ground and the front wheel was still on the ramp. No problem except that the owner's feet no longer touched the ground. The bike slowly toppled over as in slow motion. As those of you that have Harleys know, a bike that large on it's side is a big problem. Between me, the owner, and his wife, we were barely able to get the bike back upright with no damage done. We all got a good laugh out of the incident especially since no damage was done, except to his pride.
RVing is great and there is always a new experience right around the corner.
