We were camping at Dinosaur Valley state park in Texas. I was out walking down this road and was passing this group that had several campsites. They had a big fire going in the fire pit and several coalman lanterns going. As I was passing by on the road one of their dogs was barking up a storm at the edge of the light. I heard one of the camper yell at the dog “Shut up there is nothing there.” Well yes there was an armadillo was walking just off in the shadows. I always felt a little bad for the pore dog he is going “Yes yes there is something out there boss you got to believe me.”
One other time in the next camp site the people were watching a football game on a portable TV. They had it on the tailgate of their truck and were sting on the end of the picnic table closest to the TV. They had their backs to the table. There was a mother raccoon and her two half grown kits going through the left over stuff on the table. The campers were so intent on the game they never knew the raccoons were in the area say nothing to being just feet away right behind them.
