Strings of lights

My wife wants us to get some strings of lights to drape our motorhome with, to make it more cheerful and welcoming when we stay in an RV park. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  • Just make sure you TURN THEM OFF by 10PM. Not everyone likes the Las Vegas look in an RV Park....just sayin....:W.....Dennis
  • Remember the day when you were cool if you had a coleman oil lantern as your
    outside party light.
  • We wanted lights strung up. We bought the Velcro hangers for the awning that can roll up with it and love them. If we need to get awning in, it's a quick pull down of the lights and roll up of the awning. They lay flat and aren't very thick, so rolling them up in the awning does no damage.
  • Skip the lights and invest in a nice PVC light pole with a led light. Much more welcoming than lights and if you have to put the awning down quick, the lights won't impede that process.
  • We have seen christmas lights, the LED bulbs......

Strung from tree to tree like a washing line

Attatched on small shepards hooks placed around site

Attatched to the awning with clips designed for the job

We have seen numerous amounts of awning lights, google them and you will find a huge variety. You can buy the clips for stringing onto the awning.

If you were to put lights out, you could check with an RV shop on what they suggest would cause the least damage...... preferably none

We like the idea of stringing them and being supported by small shepherds hooks or some sort stake. We have a lot of the shepherds hooks that came with solar lights for the garden. We kept them in case we needed them after the lights were worn out.

    Good luck!
  • I think now is a good time to buy them, all the stores have Xmas lights for sale currently.

You can string a BUNCH of LED lights without any fear of blowing the fuse built into the string.
  • I did that ONCE.......

Hung lights around, across awning arms and roller....plugged them in and AHhhhh didn't they look nice.

Little while later storm blew in......high winds and heavy rain.
Had to rip them down in order to get awning retract before it was torn/damaged.

Rope lights on the ground is what I would do next time........IF there is a next time :B
