Sunseeker 2250LE

Hi folks,

My wife and I are looking for Forest River Sunseeker 2250 LE on Chevy chasis, has anyone out there owns this and what are the pros and cons of this baby? This is exactly what we want as it is small enough and has the amenities that we will feel comfortable in it. This would be an upgrade from class B not self contained.

Many thanks in advance.

  • I was considering a 2250, but due to HOA rules, it will be a "B" or nothing.

I liked the 2250, although from what I read, LE models have a rubber roof (so I'd head to a place like a Rhino dealer, rvroof.com, or somewhere similar to have a seamless epoxy coating put on... or at least do a once-over on all seams with Eternabond.) I'm not sure if the tanks have the heating pads that the 2300s and 2400s offer as well, and those can be a big help come temperatures in the 20s and 30s.

The fact the mattress was in two parts was a downside, although if I needed to pull over for some shut-eye, there would always be the cabover available.

The 2300 Chevy and Ford are good too, although if you go one foot longer, you still have the queen bed in the back quarter, but you get a slide which gives you some extra space.
  • Thank you all for your posting, I learned a valuable lesson from all this, I will try the bed in the 2250 for sure.

    Many thanks once again
  • We have the 2300 Chevy and love it. If you can stand the corner bed and not being able to walk around it, it is great. Make sure you try the bed in the 2250. It was done in response to those who felt the need for a walk around bed, but it sacrifices a lot of comfort. We love the 2300. Well thought out floor plan packs a lot of features in a small space. The optional U shaped dinette adds a lot. You can actually seat five. Rotating the table 90 degrees makes comfortable "couch" seating for two.

  • We bought the 2450 with the full sized (60 X 80) Queen corner bed. it is a Serta pillow top and is very comfortable.
We looked at a new 2250 LE, but that bed was horrible. Where it broke was a hump and your head and feet are down and your middle is bowed up. Very uncomfortable. Even if you put a memory foam on top it still would have the hump in the middle. I really liked the rest of it but that was a deal breaker. Make sure you go see one and try it out. Good luck in your search.... Love the Sunseekers!
  • We have a 2300 on a Chevy and love it...we had looked at the 2250, but decided that the loss of storage because of the slide was not an advantage for us...The front floor plans are the same....LOVE OURS
