Table for a tight space!

Hi, I've been using these forums for a while now and I must say the help and knowledge I've gained from you guys is great and I think It's time to become a fully fledged member!

I've just picked up one of these tables: (Linky link) and it's great! I run quite a small van conversion (Toyota Hiace) so was looking for something to maximize my space/usability. Took me a while to find something suitable, I was forever trawling through sites which only really feature tables with a center pole and didn't really do what I wanted. So I've shared it here to help anyone else on their search!

I'll post some pictures once I've finished attaching the table top but here's the promo video of it in action!

Edit: Whoops, links were broken!

  • I've got 3 of the mounting brackets, two are inside of the van so I can use the table as extra space while cooking and also in the seating area for use as a regular table.

I also have one bracket mounted on the outside of the van for those sunny days!
  • Oliver,

Thanks for sharing. It seems like a well crafted product.

  • The price is pretty high for just a table. I started the conversion of my conversion van with a wood TV tray, bungeed in the folded position out of the way. Then I got a Sanders able tray which still took up too much room. Removed that and next got a keyboard tray that slides under the counter and out of the way. I had adapted to using my computer on my lap. But what I am really looking for is the kind of tray found in college lecture rooms that swivels up (pivots vertically) from between seats and then swings down in front to becoming writing surface. I simply cannot find the mechanism or the whole thing. Best I have found only has the up and down tray without the swivel. I suppose half the problem is knowing "the name".
  • i have that table in my northstar.it's awesome for small spaces.swivels, rotates, slides up and down with ease.way better than the old style.
  • I'd like to know more about your HiAce conversion. I camp in a Honda Odyssey (I call it a B-minus) with microwave, ice-chest, air-conditioner, and a double bed. I read this forum regularly, but it would be nice to see more input from those who camp in, and convert, minivans.

  • If the base pole would fit or be adaptable for a standard RV table base mount I think they would be on to something. As it is now it appears to be a custom mount for each vehicle which will limit it's applications.
