Items needed...3/4 plywood, laminate, comes in 4x8 or 5x12 sheets, edging, usually on a 15' roll pre glued, glue/cement in a quart or gallon.
...table saw to cut shape, or have BB store do it about $1 a cut.
...sander, sand before applying glue/cement
...jig saw, to cut laminate, cut on back side or it will chip.
...Foam brush or roller for applying glue/cement
...something heavy, roller or a 2x4 will work for smoothing out air bubbles.
...Regular iron, for applying edging.
...File and either a dremel tool or a chizel for trimming the edging and smoothing corner edges.
It should cost between $100 and $150 to do it yourself. I would not pay anymore than $200 for one made. Price will depend on the laminate, some is more than the others. You will be able to buy everything you need at Box store.
You could get fancy and add a solid wood inlay for your edging, LOL
