Is this a great country! It's sure nice to see all the things businesses do for veterans today. A whole lot different from the 60's, when a local restaurant wouldn't let me use their phone to call my wife and tell her I was home from Vietnam. Of course, I never went to that restaurant again.

Another (now traveling by land yacht) sailor, USN 75-81 aboard a fast attack sub (USS Memphis, SSN-691). I didn't fully realize at the time what a privilege it was, but now appreciate I had the opportunity given to me by this great country to serve.

The Navy is strong in this thread! Wonder if we are the ones who become travel bugs at a highe rate? Much of my stats camped map is thanks to living in far flung corners of the country and a well developed love for Liberty (the Navy type and freedom type :B)
