I just got off the phone from talking directly to the Diamond Shield company.
I queried the guy directly on the subject of mold intrusion due to Florida's high humidity.
He responded that this would NOT occur with their new "Nano-Fusion" product because it is completely non-porous. I further grilled him on the comment that someone had made about the mold forming along the edges of the film, and he responded that IF the recommended maintenance with Formula 303 or Protect-All (what I already use) was done and this happened, they would cover it, but he hasn't heard of any such occurrences with the new product.
AND (this was a big one for me) he also stated that should a warranty issue arise, it would be handled at my place in Florida, not all the way back to northern Indiana.
And for bug stains, they tell you to get bugs off PRONTO to avoid this, so I guess that one is on the owner to take care of.
As for removal, their website tells you that there is NO need to pay someone $400 to take it off. You can do it yourself by using a heat gun and peeling it off starting at one edge.
Based on that, and the copy of the warranty he emailed to me, I'm going to have it done.
I will happily report back in my experiences with it if anyone cares to hear.
