QUALITY and Expertise of the install is critical. If the paint and area to be installed is not clean and dry and the Shield NOT installed to specs you get problems. Mold can only happen if moisture gets behind the Shield. IF installed correctly moisture cannot get behind the Shield. I also would NEVER use a HI pressure spray hose on the Shield. I doubt any that have had problems never used a HI Pressure water wand on that shield. Doug
