Thetford toilet fills with fresh water

On this last trip I noticed our toilet bowl fills slowly with fresh water. Seems to do it whether using city connection or tank and water pump. I'm assuming the valve that you open to fill the bowl is dirty or not closing fully. Any ideas on where to start trying to repair this?
  • No sweat!
Had to do mine a couple of years ago.
One suggestion I have is to add a valve to the water supply line to your toity. It sure came in handy when our toilet started suddenly filling itself one weekend. With the valve I was able to at least shut off the water supply to keep it from over filling between uses.

    Good luck!

    Good Idea, thanks again.
  • Depending on the model, that flush water valve is either a real big pain to get to or a moderate pain to get to. Most of the Thetford pot water valves are very susceptible to freeze damage.
