Wait - the frame on your Chevy deformed and the Blue Ox tow plate is at fault? If the Blue Ox plate was the problem, I'd expect to see IT deformed. Sounds to me like the Chevy frame could not take the forces applied to it by towing, and you would have seen the same damage no matter what tow plate you used.
