Thor ACE or Winnebago Vista

Seriously considering downsizing' in fact, we've already sold our Itasca Suncruiser. We're considering the ACE 27.1 or the Vista 27N and leaning toward the Vista because a closer look at the ACE spells "cheap". Too, we have been particularly devoted to Winnebago products with 11 purchases in 22 years, mostly Winnebago or Itasca.

Would appreciate comments, particularly from those who have tried either the Ace or Vista or both.
  • I've had one Thor product, not an Ace, and two Winnebago products. A 2011 Vista 26P and currently a 2014 Itasca Sunstar (Vista if it was a Winnie 35F). I much prefer and recommend the Winnebago products by far over Thor. The only problem with the Vista 26P was owner/operator error in that we were trying to down size, and although it got better mileage than the new 35F, it ended up being just two small and rode rough.
  • We just got a 27N Vista and really like it. We do not miss not having a sofa because the front seats swivel around for watching the very large TV. Love the full queen bed after adding a foam topper and it has a roomy bath compared to out BT Cruiser. It's only 1 ft longer (28 ft) than our BT. I don't know anything about Thor products
  • I don't own either so I can't give you any advice.

But, you seem to be loyal to and well satisfied with the Winnebago products and, question the quality of the Thor Ace.

    Why change teams now?
  • We looked at the 27 ft. Vista and liked it. We ended up with a 30 ft. though, to get the sofa. We've been happy with our 30T, FWIW.
