Thor Axis TV

Thinking of buying a Thor Axis. Does the main TV have DVD capability? How about the outside TV? If not, can it be retrofitted relatively inexpensively? Is the optional satellite dish a better option?

The literature only mentions the TV in the bedroom with DVD.
  • There are connections for the outside tv in the storage bay below the refrigerator. The bedroom tv has a built in DVD player. The main tv has an HDMI connection in the cabinet over the sink. That is also where the antenna/cable switch is. We have purchased a DVD player for the main tv as it did not come with one.
We have been extremely frustrated with tuning all of the tvs.. We get strange station numbers. Is anyone else having similar issues?
  • The axis has a dvd player for the main tv. It's in a cabinet to the right.

Further, add a switch box and you can centrally install a dvd player and use the switch box to run it through any/all your TV's on/in the coach.

Thanks, but it is more likely that I would be able to build a gene splicing kit. It sounds just like what I need, perhaps the dealer or one of the auto sound system shops will fix me up.

If the unit does not have one dealer can do it easily.

We have a 2015 Windsport with 3 TV's including the one outside. The Windsport included an HDMI switch inside the RV that outputs to any or all of the TV's. So if you put a DVD player at the switchbox, anyone of the TV's can watch. Not sure if the Axis is the same.

knowing Thor, if they spec Jensen components, the rear TV will have a 12V TV with integrated DVD. It will either be top or side load. The main TV likely will not be integrated but any new TV will have a host of input ports including HDMI. Be as simple as buying a $20 DVD player and some RCA jacks and plug it in. Oddly any particular unit can come with different components depending on what they have in stock when they build it. 2 Side by side units may have very different brands and TV configurations. Any of this can be changed easily often swapped at the dealer no charge. Further, add a switch box and you can centrally install a dvd player and use the switch box to run it through any/all your TV's on/in the coach.
