What he said. Every time I think I need to replace my batteries I do this except I don't totally discharge only to 50% and also desulfate for 24 hrs. I thought for sure this season I would have to replace my 2 6v Sam's Club batteries because they are 14 years old and they were self discharging faster than normal, but I dry camped with no generator usage for 5 days last week and batteries were at 60% SOC. Usually they are at 50% after 7 days so I think they are good for another year. My previous set were Trojans and I replaced them at 4 years not knowing how to maintain them.
