Glad you are all okay. Also glad only damage was to tires and wallet! Too many stories of lines routed through the wheel well being shredded and even body panels damaged from flying rubber and steel (yes plenty of steel cord in that tire).
Have not have a blowout yet, we are only 14 years into this. I do replace tires after they reach 5 years of service, wouldn't exceed 7 years total age. We do run a TPMS that monitors pressure and temp, very uncomfortable when I find I have forgotten to turn it on at the beginning of a day's run. The only warning I have had have been a couple of false alarms, but I'll take those.
