Tire issue

Just thought I'd post this as a reminder to do "once over's" on your tires whenever you stop be it at a rest area or CG...ect. Long story short, I took my own advice and discovered that my outer right rear tire was missing the entire center tread. I've seen outside treads but never a center. The tire didn't blow out but I'm sure it wasn't going to last much longer.
It only hurts because the tires(Yohohama) are about 5 years old and I was planning to put new rubber on late next year for a planned trip to Alaska.....Oh well, may keep the new(Toyo) tire as an unmounted spare to take along to Alaska with us.
