Tires in storage

Looking for advice. I have read that I shouldn't store my coach on concrete. It supposedly is bad for the tires. Any thoughts on that thinking? I don't have any other options since my garage floor is concrete.
  • Michelin specifically states do not store your tires on concrete. They recommend a barrier of plywood, cardboard or plastic as Trackrig suggested.

Is there a App for finding concrete roads so I can avoid them? Previous tires on my DP spent 3/4th their life on my concrete floor in my MH bay or concrete pad in Florida...replaced the rear tires at 10 years and put them on my 10 wheel dump truck. They are now 14 years old.
  • I really can't see why it would matter. I think many RV lots are concrete.
  • National RV in Detroit says "It can be argued that parking on concrete can cause flat spots on your RV tires, but overall we feel that a full pad of concrete would provide a durable and ideal parking surface. Concrete doesn’t contain petroleum-based products like the ones used in asphalt, so you don’t have to worry about chemicals clashing and causing damage. As far as water drainage goes, we would highly recommend shaping your concrete pad so that it is crowned and water can drain off rather than collect around your tires."
  • "I have read that I shouldn't store my coach on concrete"

Which tire manufacturer's material said no concrete?
  • I have no opinion of storing them on concrete, but you do have lots of options. Cut a pieces of plywood, cardboard, plastic or rubber sheeting to go under the tires.
