For your info there is only 2 manufactures who build a true soft rubber tires made for RV applications Michelin and Goodyear! All other tires are not RV tires they are hard rubber truck tires! As Paul Harvey would say "Now you know the rest of the story"! Good Luck to you in whatever you decide to buy.
While that is technically true, I believe you'll find the biggest difference is the added UV protection those tires offer. I'm not sure the rubber is any softer, infact it may actually be harder. Even the
Michelin XRV only mentions it's "cool running tread compound", which usually would mean harder. I know in the past they had said something about less stiff sidewall, that is not mentioned in the new data sheet. Maybe they stiffened up the sidewalls after all of the problems they had???
With standard OTR tires there are many specialized tires, including regional, long haul, truckload, less than truckload, bus, emergency vehicle, dump, trash hauler, just to name a few.
If you look through all of these you'll find some of them too offer what they market with the RV tire.
Like EVERYTHING, it's best to do your homework and educate yourself before making a decision.
If you limit yourself to just an RV marketed tire you'll have fewer choices and probably pay more. Yet if you get the wrong OTR tire you will have, as noted, a poor ride due to a way-to-hard tire.
There are some really nice options for a MH that aren't marketed specifically to the RV industry.
