On the way back from our last trip the battery in our 2013 C-Max died after about five hours. We do have a 12V charge line installed. I checked the inline 10 amp fuse and found it blown. This morning my son and I used the volt meter to check the line the results were:1. 14 volts from MH 7 pin. 2. 14 volts through 6 pin to car.3. 2.4 volts through charge line to car battery.This car has been towed all over in this configuration without and issue. Any ideas?

If I was doing the install I would have put a fuse between the toad battery and the MH connector. You might trace out the line and look for another blown fuse.I would also check the charge line for a possible scrape causing it to go to ground in the toad.

Make sure you have a good ground line back to the MH from the toad.Blessings kdk

That is in the toad? That is between the connector on the front of the toad and the toad battery.Could be bad connection in the connector.Check to make sure the ground is good.2.4 volts could be induced or poor connection.

Is this a direct line with no isolation except a fuse? I fuse mine at the toad. It is also fused at MH end. I also have an isolation diode so toad battery doesn't feed back into MH when MH ignition is shut off.

Start checking to see where the voltage drops off.
Start at the front of toad and work toward it's battery.
There must be a device that is blocking the power from getting to the battery. Diode, poor connection.
You are disconnecting the charge lead before reading?

With the car plugged into the motorhome and motor home running what is the voltage at the car battery and then without the motor running
? that will tell you if its charging or not.u should see about 1.5 volts different on the read out

The issue is there are only 2.4 volts to the charge line in car.

The fuse is between the connect at the front of the toad and the toad battery. Sorry if I was not clear. After I read my last post I was confused!
