In California we do have long, steep grades whenever we turn.
The extra weight will just make you going slower, but that is going to be good test for coach transmission and cooling system. (assuming you do have good toad brake)
Make sure they are well maintained.
Getting at 3 AM to make grades before day heat can suck on long run
If grades are a problem and we're in the mountains where they come one after the other, we'd just unhook and drive both vehicles.
