Th old tech Lithium Ions from 2012 I battery replaced four 6v Ttrojans.
The new tech safer Litium Ion, I don't know, but should take just four to replace 16. Cost was 4,000 then for one roughly $16,000.00 or so. 16 6v Trojans at 160.00 or less,$2,500.00 region. 6V Trojans seem a bargain, if my math is right.
Starting battery in ours is 12v and as big as the four 6vs. Don't know what that might cost nor weight.
My understanding is that you can't switch from regular batteries to Lithium Ion. LI batteries need a special monitor and charging system.
Are you saying that you had LI and then switched to regular?
It is hard to compare LI to AGM's because LI can go to a lower rate of charge and come back to a full charge without significant effect. Our batteries are set to fall to 30% charge before the generator will kick on. Regular batteries shouldn't fall below 50% charge.
If the generator is not set to come on, our system is set to let the LI batteries go to 'sleep' and will have to be started manually at each battery. At this point, everything would be off electrically.
Safe travels,
