Top 10 tips for newbies...

Follow the maintenance check list every year, engine, trans, air system, brakes, batteries, plumbing, generator, etc. being proactive is better than reactive. Spending time stranded isn't any fun.

It isn't a car and doesn't drive like one, and shouldn't. Just because you can go 80 doesn't mean it's the right thing to do ( or safe).

Check your tires for cracks and uneven wear as well as correct loaded pressures every trip.

Lube your steps frequently.

Keep extra fuses on board, extra light bulbs for exterior and interior. ( bought all ours on Amazon).

Fuel stabilizer when sitting for long periods.

Understand how air brakes work, especially when the LPA goes off while driving.

Know how to handle a front tire failure while driving.

When packing or putting anything in your coach think light! A lot of heavy items can add weight fast to your coach! This advice was giving to me when I first starting RVing in 1976 so I'm passing it on!

Number one: SLOW down.

Slow down when driving.

Slow down when backing.

Slow down when:

hooking/unhooking, attaching/unattaching, sliding/unsliding, unfolding/folding, packing/unpacking.

Just SLOW down...

If you are full timing/retired....what is the rush.

If it is a weekend fling....why ruin it by being in panic mode
(gotta hurry so I can relax).

Be like a professional driver and always do a 360 around your rig looking under and up to make sure all is secure and there are no big puddles of liquids on the ground.

Don't make RV'ing complicated. It isn't.

I just made s beginner's mistake that cost me a bunch of money.

Ditto. Don't trust the gas gauge.
