Tour Bus almost cut in two

I have seen semi trucks doing 100 mph on more than 1 occasion. That was in the 99 cents fuel years.
Van Hool buses are build to cruise above 100 mph.
Funny, I just find some of them are manufactured in Republic of Macedonia.
How about some geography lesson?

News said it was a 1998 model. So it's 18 years old. I would bet this bus traveled up and down California on a daily basis so easily had more than a million miles on it, probably way more than that. Not that that necessarily means anything, but in 18 years you know it was well used. Those buses don't just sit in a yard, they are on the road all the time.

Yes I read the link where it says it was a 1998 bus that weighed 16000 lbs when empty. A lot of wrong information there, you and know that those 45' buses weigh more then 16000 lbs. Those buses probably weigh over 40,000 lbs. So you can not believe half of what you read.

Rooster is correct that the bus was carrying farm workers from Mexico. California and Washington could not farm without those hard working people. You find very few from this country that will do that hard labor.

But what about I-5 or I-15, and other places as well like Utah that has 80 mph, what I guess I did not get across on my post is why no limit on tour bus mph, I have personally seen tour bus's from Cali to Vegas driving over 75 mph, maybe that's why you wont see me in one.

The driver is reported as Los Angeles resident, the bus is Van Hool and I believe this is California licence plate.

You are correct Ray, the bus was headed to Pasco, WA. (Tri Cities) with farm workers to work the farm fields for the 2016 season. The farmers in Eastern Washington State can't get enough local farm workers to harvest there fields. A Co Op hires these workers to come up from Mexico and all documentation is legal. It's really sad about what happened and the loss to all those families.

All busses from Mexico and other countries south of the border should stop on the other side of the border, and passengers walk accross through the pedestrian checkpoint and transfer to American busses on our side of the border!

Same thing with Mexican commercial trucks. They should drop their trailers at the border and transfer them to American trucking companies!

2 gypsies: All of those cross border busses have dual registration. American bus lines do not cross into Mexico. These busses can be seen on almost any freeway in he USA. They all look nice at first but are typical Mexican junk! They do not have true maintenance facilities and there are very few inspection stations. The drivers enter the USA with false log books and often have been on duty for more than 24 hours! The Calif. registration means nothing. This IS ANOTHER Mexico issue!!!
