tow dolly troubles?

i dont have the dolly anymore i sold it because it didnt work for the van, so i dont know what size it was. thanks

i looked at that idea but the wheels are only about 2" inside the fenders and i dont think it would gain enough room to justify doing it,,, thanks

ahh ok. There is a large pivot bolt that allows the tow dolly body to pivot when turning. Too loose or too tight can both cause problems when turning.

OK lets start this over............

Im NOT towing my truck! i just used my truck as a reference to the with of the dolly by saying it would fit on there,,

im towing a 2011 dodge grand caravan behind a motorhome,

when i turn any corners the TOW DOLLY fenders hit the side of the dadge caravan.

when i had my truck on there the TOW DOLLY fenders would go under my truck fender wells when i turned it here in the yard, so other than the truck being to heavy for the dolly it did fit and turn ok, the van want turn without hitting the sides because the tow dolly fenders dont line up with the van fender wells

Master Tow dollys are rated for a tow vehicle of less than 5000lbs. Your truck must stick out quite far for you not to be able to turn 45degrees. With a midsize car in tow, I can make much tighter turns than that.My guess is that although your trucks front wheels can fit on the dolly, its overhang is too big to tow on a dolly. I have the highest rated model (4950lbs). There are other Master Tow Dollys with lower ratings but none higher.

I tow my dolly with my E150 van sometimes. Can't see how the dolly fenders could hit your van unless you were turning extremely tight? Also even though the truck will fit on the dolly, you may be exceeding the load limit of the dolly depending on the weight of the truck.

i dont pull my truck on it i just put it on there to see if it would fit. the tow dolly is pulled by the motorhome and the dodge caravan is the toad, i tried to take it for a test pull but i couldnt get out of the driveway because i couldnt make the turn (not even a 45* turn) thanks
