Tow Dollys

I have recently gone from a fifth wheel to a class A so using a tow dolly is a new adventure. Do you tighten down the wheel straps tight or do you just snug them down? Do you leave the steering wheel unlocked or do you lock it? We have been on the road for eight years with the fifth wheel but this is like starting over.

    I can only tell you how I do it. Don't know if it is the right way or not. I always tighten the straps really tight and recheck them in a few miles and at each stop. I leave the front wheels unlocked.

    What dolly do you have to start with? Straps need to be very tight and after 5 or 10 miles you need to stop and check them and re-tighten if needed. I see you have the Ford Escape, it isn't all wheel drive is it?
