There's also the issue of parking. If you want to stop at mid-day for a meal, or to briefly visit some roadside attraction, or overnighting in a rest area or parking lot, having a trailer can impose some restrictions on you. A B or short C (like mine) can park in the car spaces. With a trailer, you may be 'segregated' to a less-spacious lot. There are added complications to backing up when needed.
Personally, I also subscribe to the 'keep it simple and neat' crowd. I'm rarely in a CG, but only take out what I'm going to immediately use. When done, I put it away. Since I don't have the weight or storage capacity for a lot of stuff, it's never much. Only the power cord remains when I go to bed.
