Tow GVWR 6150?

First of all, thanks for all the great advice I have been getting. My Jeep GC has a GVWR of 6150. Are there Class C's that can tow that much?
  • I think the GC is closer to 5K than 4K. The best towing Cs are freightliner based. Check out the DynaQuest.
  • GVWR=Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. This is the max you should load the jeep while traveling: Think people plus supplies and fuel. You need to take the Jeep to a truck scale or look for the "curb weight" to see how much you will be towing. The local recycling center in my neighborhood has a truck scale (they use to weigh the car/truck loaded with paper and again after dropping off the recycle) If I'm not recycling and I just want to check the weight without a formal receipt the gal just pockets $5 to let me on the scale.
Weigh the Jeep with what you would keep in the gas tank (I travel with 1/2 a tank) and throw in some of the things you might load in the toad, like the bike or an ice chest, etc.
I'm betting you will find the curb weight to be about 4,000 lbs which should be in the range of what your C with a one of the larger engines is rated for.:)
    JMHO, I'm not and expert.
    Happy Trails.
