The other thing to keep in mind when removing the base plate is it replaces the bumper on many vehicles. If you didn't keep the bumper this will be a problem.
  • usually most vehicles go through a design change after just a few years.....but if you have the bracket model number you can go to camping world site and check other vehicles part numbers against what you have! I have a bracket setup for a 2005 CRV and is only good for two years on that vehicle only....
  • Agree with gemsworld with one small caveat. The baseplate for a 2003 Ford Explorer may be the same as a Mercury Mountaineer as it is realistically the same vehicle. BUT it may not be depending on the manufacturer of the baseplate. When I bought the baseplate for my Explorer I wanted one that was as hidden as possible. The Demco version had the connection points come through the facia area in place of where the fog lights would have been. Other manufacturers had the connection point below the facia.

Base plates are usually designed to fit specific vehicles. I seriously doubt a base plate designed for a certain make/model would work on a different make/model.
