- Hank85713Explorerwe just purchased a '13 Hyundai Elantra to tow behind a winnebago aspect. about 2800 lbs but it is a manual shift 4 cyl, and surprisingly it runs well for a 4 cyl. Just fueled it today and it is getting a combined 35mpg. If you need an auto well you will pretty much be limited to a dolly unless you buy an older veh that was towable. The thing is we only paid about $5K more for new vs a used as an '09 with 40000 was at the dealer for $10K, no warranty as it was already 5 year old and the 10/100000 is only for orig owner!
- DakzukiExplorerIt all depends what you want the toad to do? Do you want to go off road or will it be strictly for pavement? Do you want a hard top or rag top? What is best for one person is useless for another.
If I had my dream toad it would be a Suzuki Samurai with a VW diesel conversion so the toad and RV ran off the same fuel. - lanerdExplorer II

Definitely not true. There are many FWD cars that are 4-down towable. Many FWD with standard shift can be and there are plenty of auto trans FWD that are capable especially from GM and Ford.
Your View probably only has a 5000 lbs tow limit (maybe only 3500 lbs) so you need to keep that in mind.
Jeeps are by far the most popular but even some of those can't be 4-down towable. Of the FWD vehicles, Honda CRV is #1 with a bunch of others from GM and Ford. Most import cars, with auto trans, are not 4-down towable including all of Toyotas.
However, you can put a lube pump on your RAV4 and make it towable, but if your car is still under warranty, this will probably void it.
Do a search on "toads" and have fun reading.
Good luck

The best advice to to check with the manufacturer of the car you are interested in.
If you do go to a dolly, Acme eztow is only 400 lbs with a hitch weight of 40 lbs and includes disk surge breaks and LED light. They can town 5,000 lbs which is more than you would want. I have one that works well behind a 2000 Class C 24 Ft with a CRV on it. http://cartowdolly.com/
They are made in N.C. and delivered to your door by truck. - jaugustonExplorerSomething light weight.
- richardwiseExplorerBeing a Chevy guy, I would say HHR or Malibu.
