I own a 38' 2008 Newmar, 3 slides (1 super), V-10 362 HP, 457 Ft.Lb. Torque, 5 speed trans with Torq Shift, on a 24,000 Lb. chassis with 22.5 wheels.
The 24,000 and 26,000 pound chassis are the same except for the rear axle rating....the 40' is built on the 26,000 Lb. chassis and has an extra 2,000 Lbs. of house weight. The difference between the two is 2 foot in length and 2,000 pounds of towing difference. The 24,000 has 6,000 Lb. tow rating and the 26,000 has 4,000 Lb. tow rating. Both have a GCWR of 30,000 Lb..

GOOGLE KNOWS
I have toured the USA and been coast to coast twice towing a 3,200 Lb. Jeep. I pull the Mountains (10-12,000') just as well as any equal powered and size diesel powered motorhome.
Right on man! That's great to hear. I'm a research guy, so this helps a ton (12 tons actually), and you're right. Google knows everything!
