trans going into gears hard
my trans really goes into forward and reverse fast/hard when I shift. Could that be a modulator?

If it is a diesel with an Allison trans the linkage and trans cable can cause hard shifts. The slack in the system makes the engine and trans brains confused. I have had this problem and this was the fix. Cheers Doug
