I did it last fall. There are two really long, steep grades but the road is very good except right along the Ocoee River where it still isn't bad. It just gets more old school narrow and windy. I was pulling a 19 foot hideout TT with a ram 1500 and a small V-8. The grades where second gear affairs but the curves were easy enough. Take it slow through that river stretch though; if you come up on an oncoming big rig they may be in your lane.
The only big issue is if the white water rafting is going strong; the bus traffic is pretty heavy and cars park all along the shoulder. Still enough room to get trough, but a pain. You're no bigger than a school bus, are you? They fly and have no trouble.
