Putting this in the class A section because I think it is more likely a consideration.
Do you consider your use of your RV more for traveling or camping?
Both
Is there really little reason to have an RV if you don't want to dedicate your vacation time to camping? How many still fly and stay at nice hotels or do you spend every vacation night in a roadside RV park, night time parking lot, and a campground when you get there?
All of the above
As an example, how about a beach vacation - condo right on the beach, or an RV park 20 feet from your neighbor a half mile inland? For the most part, the more desirable real estate locations are not used for RV parks.
Maybe for the most part, but down here where we live, there are a few that are right on the water.
just curious
So, I think your questions are more worded as though they are statements, but I will try and tackle the answer. It comes down to one word, Choice. A motorhome provides you with choice that you would not otherwise have by flying and staying in a hotel or condo. Deciding on whether you would like to sleep in your own bed or a hotel bed (some are good and most are bad) as you get older becomes a little more important. Taking things slower and seeing the country side is very appealing. If cost is an issue, then truly flying and staying in a hotel or condo is cheaper. Motorhomes are definitely more expensive over the long haul. It is nice though to decide one day if you would like to take the motorhome or if you would like to fly and stay in a hotel. We've done both, to even include cruising during our years of motorhome ownership.
