Tri-Mark Paddle Latch failing on outside entrance door

Pic's worth 1000 words - so attaching some pics.

My tri-mark paddle outside door latch becomes disconnected from the linkage.

I've got a pic of the inside of the full assembly here.

The area that springs out is shown here. One pic is it in position where it works.

When working

The issue is that when I release the door paddle quickly the little gizzo springs free. This results in a lock out of the RV and have to take the door apart to fix.

Here it is sprug free:

I know this is a tri-mark paddle latch, but I can't figure out if something is just not adjusted correctly or broken. Did a look of google searching can't find anything to reference

  • Try the TriMark website. Is there a model number on it?? if not, they have good pictures to let you identify. You can order whatever from then also, but they are high! You can talk to their customer service, they were very nice when I called. Mine is a different model, and I was able to get it from an rv parts and service place, whthout having to pay the shipping charges. Of course, part of the shipping was included in the dealer mark-up, but was still somewhat better than having it shipped.
