Trip planners

Does anyone have a good website to plan trips by. Now before you suggest things like Google Maps and the like here is what I am looking for...

We will be going from Boise Idaho to Joplin Missouri soon. We are not really taking this trip to sight see but if there is something along the way we might do it.

I know there are several different routes to get there but dear hubby really only likes to drive our 39'DP with a 20' enclosed car trailer for about 5 to 6 hours - so about 200 to 300 miles depending on what type of roads we take.

I would love to find a website that can tell me where would a good stoping spot (town) would be within that range from our starting point. From there I can use sites like All-Stays to see what is available around that area.

Everything I find you put in point a and point b and it tells you the mileage - to much or to little. I am looking for something that you can say take me 300 miles from Boise. Then the next leg take me from that point for 250 miles more.

I know this all sounds confusing and maybe there isn't anything out there but thought it was worth asking.

Thanks!
  • I recall someone posting a link several months ago to a website that would draw a circle on a map a specified distance from a starting point. I thought it impractical, since the circle was an "as the crow flies" distance. Actual driving distance would likely be significantly longer.

  • We do it the old fashioned way. Maps... co-pilot gets maps covering all states for the trip. Prior to the trip she works out mileage or time we wish to travel. Then using the KOA book or Good Sam BIG book that lists all parks by state, she can determine where "we" want to stay.
