Trying to locate fuse panel on 2003 Allegro bus

My emergency flashers don't work. Pulling the switch doesn't light up the turn signal arrows, so I don' think it is a flasher. I figure that it is a fuse, but I cannot locate the fuse panel that has the emergency flashers, turn signals, headlight relay, etc. Does anyone with an Allegro Bus of this year know where these fuses are located?
  • Thanks michelb...I did find two relays inside the top cover of the dash. I swapped them around, and the emergency flashers worked. Looks like I just need a new relay. I'm still going to try and locate another fuse panel for the turn signals/hazard flashers though.
  • Thank-you for all the helpful suggestions. I did find a fuse panel in the outside compartment below the drivers seat. All of them are labeled, but none were labeled turn signals or flashers. The turn signals do work, so I will look for the relays in the dash as that explanation sounds like a good possibility. It would be nice to know where the turn signal fuse is though. I may call Tiffin to find out where that fuse is. Thanks again.
  • I'm not a mechanic so could be wrong (someone please correct me if I am) but I believe if your turn signals work, the fuse is fine (I don't think there's a separate fuse for the turn signals and one for the hazards).

I suspect it's like our 03 Phaeton which does have separate relays for turn signal and hazards (I'm guessing most / all cars do). Behind the dash, you should be able to find 2 relays (square / rectange boxes about 1" long) that look like this:

(not my picture, just stole it from the internet. Here are a bunch more examples http://www.google.com/search?q=turn+signal+relay&client=firefox-a&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=0Y8cUo3vFOfO2gXlqoDgAQ&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1876&bih=1041 (link to google images doesn't seem to work properly - you might have to click on 'Images' in the top bar of the page).

One will be for your turn signals, the other will be for our hazards. If it's like our Phaeton, they'll be pretty much the same (except that one of ours chimed, the other one did it - on ours, the turn signal chimed, while the hazards didn't - I prefered the other way so swapped them out. The easiest way to test them, is simply swap them - if right now, your turn signals work but your flashers don't, after swapping them, your flashers will work but your turn signals won't.

If you need more help, you'll probably have to contact your chassis manufacturer (not Tiffin) and now that I think about it, our Phaeton is on a Freightliner, your Bus might be on a Spartan so it might not be the same. As far as the fuses, if it is a Freightliner chassis, I believe those are in the outside compartment under the driver's seat.

    Hope this helps.
  • On my '05, these fuses and breakers are in front outside compartment driver side ;directly beneath driver seat. Fuses for trailering, etc. are in electrical bay inside a black box. There are other fuses located in bottom of center console below lower drawer; not sure what these serve. One other location of fuses is behind padded wall alongside the entry steps; for remote door fob and keyless entry and maybe for power awning.

Tiffin does. They are well known for exemplary customer service. Just give them a call!
