Tucson Area Suggestions??

Hello, DW and I are planning to be in Tucson area for a couple weeks. Having never been to the area before, we are looking for suggestions for a nice RV Park with all the amenities. We have been doing a lot of hiking and moving around lately and we are looking for a place to just relax and kick back and enjoy the weather. I understand it may be a little difficult getting into some of the parks this time of year but with some flexibility on our part maybe we can do it. So if you don't mind giving out some of your favorite places and why I would greatly appreciate everyone's suggestions. Thanks!!

Dave

  • De Anza RV Resort in Amado. It used to be a Greyhound RaceTrack. Beautiful sites with pool/spa etc. Off leash dog run. Close to lots of stuff to see and do. Click on the link below for pictures of the campground, then scroll down on page two for more things to see and do in the area.....Dennis

  • West of Tucson a bit is Cactus Country RV park. Take Houghton road exit go north maybe a mile or less turn right. You can see the park from I i0.
  • "All the amenities" and lots of activities I would go for Voyager

Laid back and relaxed - and a fair bit cheaper - Desert Trails, especially if you like hiking. Nice trails in BLM land where you can do a mile or two right outside the park. The other side of the BLM land is Tucson Mountain Park with miles of trails, and that is adjacent to Saguaro National Park West

This is our 6th winter in Desert Trails, lots of friendly folks and you can be as active as you want. 30 minute scenic drive over Gates Pass and you are in downtown Tucson.
  • If you really want to relax in beautiful surroundings, go to Catalina State Park.

For a RV park you might want to look into Voyager RV.
  • We used to love staying at Beaudry RV park in South Tucson....it is now a KOA and not as highly reputed but still pretty nice place to kick back for awhile. Also enjoyed staying at the Mission RV park a tad south of Tucson.
