No more than 30 PSI. Actually, if your gauge is sensative enough, 20 pounds will do it. You just want to observe the pressure drop and as far as I know, there is no set in stone guideline for how much in how much time. We always just saw if it was a bad leaker, it got replaced. We could have probably TIG welded but the shop considered them as replaceable.
Besides, you may discover wayward pieces from your turbine wheel inside.:W
Your turbo will develop and move quite a volume of air but it needs to maintain head pressure on the intake to make the charge more dense.
