Has anyone tried the FREE TV KEY advertised on TV in their RV's ? Sounds ideal if it really works which I doubt. I've usually found that if it sounds too good to be true, it really is.:R

Could you tell us what you are talking about?
It is an AS SEEN ON TV ad for a TV OTA antenna.....which should have been obvious from other posts

LINK- I guess some peoples idea of "off-grid" camping is different from others. When we are off-grid, we get nothing that we don't bring with us, not cell phone, TV, WY-FI, except Sat. TV.

Could you tell us what you are talking about?- I can verify that a Winegard Batwing with the Wingman attachment and a Sensar Pro will indeed pull in HD digital signals from as far as 50 miles away (Galveston over flatland picking up Houston stations). No need to buy any snake oil.
- The FREE TV STATEMENT relates to the National Broadcast Stations from the local towns that are all now broadcasting digital TV signals which are FREE to the public.
We do quite well with this setup using our BATWING antenna for HDTV digital signals... Sitting here in my back yard I can look to the North and pick up all of Washington DC HDTV signals then switcn around to the South and pick up all of Richmond Va HDTV digital signals.. They are both some 50-60 miles away...
We get our HDTV fill just fine camping off-grid back in the Natl Forest areas and along the Blue Ridge Parkway picking up the National Broadcast HDTV signals fromthe local towns...
The WINEGARD Antenna panel is used to select either the CABLE TV port or use the OTA roof mounted antenna...

My RV came with the standard Winegard Sensar II or III (Not sure which) and while it does receive HDTV And it's much better at it than the FREE TV KEY.. Well, I still felt the need to upgrade.. So i added the Wingman, which greatly improved (Just about 1.5 times the range on UHF) and the SENSAR PRO (Major upgrade, about double the range of the batwing+wingman) So now I can watch stations up to around 60 miles distant.
The Free TV key.. Might be good to 20 miles but even then I'd not be sure. Old-Biscuit wrote:

HD is a function of your TV tuner not an antenna
It is just a fancy coat hanger (yes you can get OTA signals with a metal coat hanger)
Within reason it will work just fine......not near as good as a roof top Crank up Winegard Batwing antenna.
Can't rotate it, fixed lower position and not amplified
This is soooo true. I have even used an extension cord for an antenna out camping, and it worked.- With any OTA antenna height is your best and only friend :)
