TV's for MH's

One thing to remember when purchasing a TV for the RV is to look at the viewing angle, if you can go to the store and sit lower then off to each side to see what it looks like at those angles.

Most times in a RV you wont be looking straight on at it. I found out the hard way after buying and returning 2 TVs, that sometimes at those angles the screen is washed out or black making them un-viewable.

After buying and returning a Samsung and a RCA I found a Insignia that has a much larger viewing angle, 160 horizontal and 160° vertical viewing angles.

In my RV with the TV in the front or the rear bedroom you have to look up at it. This TV works great in both areas. The DVD quality is excellent.

I just bought 2 Insignia LED TVs from Best Buy. One in mounted in the cabinet and the other on a hospital-type arm in the bedroom.

I also went with "the VIZIOs (WALMART) 120VAC models.

We just got back from a 3,000 mile round trip from Glaser NP and it worked beautifully. We encountered some very rough roads. This was the 1st trip since I installed it and I worried about how it would affect the TV but it did just fine.

Don't convert to a plasma flat screen. Although the picture is great they burn lots of power when dry camping.

An LED will work great in your MH and uses next to nothing for power.

I put a new large LED TV in my overheard on an articulating arm. The arm was designed for RV's so you push it back and it locks into place. I can pull it out and move the TV over to the side for better viewing from the couch. I was anticipating some kind of a system of bungee cords that I would have to put on it to keep it from bouncing around and making noise on the road. But I installed it just on the arm and took it for a ride and the TV is just so light that it doesn't bounce at all or make any noise. I made a box out of 3/4" plywood and bolted it into the steel box that held the previous TV, and then attached the articulating arm mount to that. Works just fine.

I have replaced a couple and both TV's held up to being in a motor home just fine. I believe I used Samsung but I have yet to hear of any of them that didn't do fine. Just don't get plasma due to the weight and power consumption.

VIZIO's from WalMart here as well. Have three onboard for quite some time now, and all continue to work well.

We are going through a new upgrade in technology. If you pay attention you can by an Ultra High Definition for the price of a regular flat screen. Much better picture at the same price.
I have never heard of someone having a problem with their TV based on RV use.

If a flat-screen tv can survive being carted, crated, tossed on a boat, crammed into a container, schlepped out of the boat, thrown in a truck, rumbled across country, and then kicked around by some minimum wage drone in a big-box store, why wouldn't it live just fine in a plush RV?

UHD and 4K TVs are very nice, but need CONTENT to take advantage of their better picture quality, and there is still little of that around. Except for the sample videos they display at BJs and Sam's Club. :)
