Woody, I'm just glad it wasn't worse and didn't cost more.
What this costs THOR is staggering. Word of mouth praise from customers is invaluable. When they balk at a simple problem, especially from their own workmanship, they turn a powerful force from positive to negative. Picking up pennies and throwing dollars into the wind.
Thank Heaven for your Dealer!
Rovvie, I'm not a bulk buyer of LED TV's, but I'm pretty sure the few I've gotten new have had the right screws included in a small parts kit. I also recall seeing the size molded into the plastic of the set, near one of the holes. Don't count the right screws out. You may find you can get a longer one and file (jeweler's file, probably, screws are so small) a couple slots down it (parallel to the length). This gives you a home made "thread chaser" and maybe working it in, till it binds, then taking it out and clearing the chips (several times) will let you use proper screws of (METRIC) size. There'll be three sizes: Diameter, Thread Pitch, Length.
We had the dealer add OEM cruise control to a new car. Years later, the control started to wobble. Correcting it called for removing the Air Bag. Friend in the biz told me "disconnect battery and wait 30 minutes." I waited Two Days! Scared me to death, but I opened it up, set the bag aside, found one of the two screws out, other very loose. They were self-tapping "sheet metal" screws and the holes were clearly for machine screws. I save the screws out of little appliances and stuff that I scrap. So in my parts boxes, and two EXACT machine screws. Think I used a dab of blue Loc Tite, put'er back together. It's NO harder to do a job right the FIRST time.
