That vintage Ford van has a real frame... all the way to the bumper. Bolting the tow bar to the bumper/frame is better than a tow bar to a unibody's sheet metal. I would run the safety chains to the frame, not just to the tow bar.

Googled "70CH Car Trailer". Trailer is made by Big Tex Trailer Manufacturing, Inc. The 70CH has a GVWR of 7000#.

Tongue weight is probably over the MH rating.

I've seen many, many, many unsafe towing situations.

Love his Jeep & ATV........looks like one day it may end up in my yard. :W

I guess "Murphy" never gets some folks. If I tried that, "Murphy" would break it leaving the drive way.

timmac, I don't dare show your set up to my DW. She wants to get a MH and a Jeep so bad...Every time we're on the road with our TT and she sees a MH with a Jeep pulled behind it I get " wouldn't that be fun". Yes, it would but not right now.

Here is my setup, hitch on motorhome has been reinforced and channel iron added to frame in back of RV, two heavy duty 5500 pound axels with 4 brakes, 10,000 pound safety chains and tires, electric brake away switch, 10,000 pound receiver with 1200 pound tonged weight capacity, LED lights, Jeep more center on axels to keep tonged weight light as possible and air bags on motorhome to keep it all level, total weight around 6000 lbs, Banks headers, Banks cold air intake and 5 star tuning and it pulls it like it only weights 2000 lbs..

Safe up to 75 mph, but I only drive 62 mph... ;)
