Unusual Event with our Television

When we pull in to a new location we have to run a scan with our television in order to pick up the over the air broadcasts. If we connect to cable instead we don't run any scan, the stations just come in.

A couple days ago we camped at the Anaheim RV Resort near Disneyland, California. We connected to cable but got nothing but snow (not the cold wet kind). The park manager explained that because the park gets HD and digital channels we had to do a scan. We did that and got great cable reception and all their stations. It was a new one on me.

  • Even if you get channels without a scan on cable you may get more if you do a scan.

Because you are not getting TRUE cable. The CG is using a OTA antenna and splitting it to the various Camp sites. Doug
  • Nothing unusual about it. Your TV (like most) has two cable tuners analog and digital. You've been lucky up till now and have only used the analog side, this park has digital hence the re scan required.
  • Getting pictures and sound on a box!! and Movies AND news!! Its MAGIC!!!!!!
