update on my 5star tune

I wasnt trying to save fuel that was a plus I was trying to improve the drivability of the coach. it did that no more constant down shifting and searching for gears. they sent me another tune can hardly wait to see how it works. they said it would improve the cruise control and turn up the torque a little

My last trip I reduced my speed to 57-58 from my usual 62-65 and gained 1 MPG on 2 different filups. Once into the Sierras all bets are off.
If you compute the cost of these engine tweaks and the savings in fuel you actually gain is it worth it.
I have monitored my fuel consumption for every tankful for the last 35K miles and it averages out to 8.5 MPG.
Having fun costs a lot of dough sometimes and I'm having a lot of fun.

1 mpg! For us, that would be a 14% increase. I’d be “tickled s******”....a lot! Sign me up!!! memtb

that was with almost full fuel and water supply for 7 days and a 3800 lb..car in tow. I though 7 was ok.

Isn't 6 or 7 mpgs low for a 27 ft Class C? Or is this the norm because of the overhead sleeping area?

I read it and got kinda confused a few times.. to me the 5 star worked great so when I get a chance to try the new tune I will compare. it might be a while. what ever 5 star did made the noise less and trance better

I have already read the detailed 5-Star turning info in that thread. Basically it changes the transmission shift schedule which is good and also advances the application of the throttle fooling the driver into thinking that the engine now accelerates better (not so good). The thread mentions nothing about changing the cruise control operation. But the OP in the beginning of this thread says that the latest version of the 5-Star now also changes the operation of the cruise control. My question is what actually did they do now to change the cruise control?
