Upgrade my LP tank's pressure meter

Has anyone upgraded their LP tank-mounted gauge to an interior house-mounted electric version? Is it a DIY type thing? What electric gauge did you use?
My RV is a 1997 fleetwood Southwind Storm gasser with 24 gallon tank under the kitchen.

thanks!!
  • Hi All.

I really don't see the need for anything other than what is already on our Motorhones Built-in Propane Tank. After46+ years as RV'ers and Boon_Dockers. We have never even ever come close to being even a little bit low on Propane.

Are "Propane Gague" is pretty darn accrate as it is, at least way close enough for our needs. One reason, is I refill after each and ever trip, so we are always starting out with a 100% full Propane Tank. Doesn't get much easier than that. Even no matter what the cold temps are.

Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill & two Small "Yorkie Kids", who love to trave as much as we do.
  • hmmmm....that gauge set looks good, I could mount it right on the dash, but that sight gauge has 4 clips, my OE gauge has 6 smaller plastic clips. DYK if the tank mounts are standard, allowing the 4 clip model to fit OK?
  • well, by golley, I do have a sending unit on my sight gauge. Now to determine the rating and find a matching gauge.
    THAnks hardtobe

its very easy.just buy a matching(ohms) sender and gauge
and its not a pressure meter.it simply reads the approx. LPG % left in tank same as afuel gauge
IF the sender on the tank is already a electric one read the ohms rating and match the gauge
