Only if you like wrecking engines. The K&N works by allowing more air, and larger (and more) dust into the engine. Dirt is not a good thing inside engines.

If you have the E4OD the Banks Transcommand can be a good idea. A friend, that owed several tow trucks with this transmission, installed them on the recommendation of the only transmission shop I actually trusted and found that their transmission failure rate fell to nearly zero.
They are less helpful 4R100, but probably still a good idea.
