.... K&N cone filter
Only if you like wrecking engines. The K&N works by allowing more air, and larger (and more) dust into the engine. Dirt is not a good thing inside engines.
.. transcommand..
If you have the E4OD the Banks Transcommand can be a good idea. A friend, that owed several tow trucks with this transmission, installed them on the recommendation of the only transmission shop I actually trusted and found that their transmission failure rate fell to nearly zero.
They are less helpful 4R100, but probably still a good idea.
Engine has 100k miles and not wrecked yet. Haven't heard of one yet wrecked from the Banks implementation of the K&N equipped intake. Haven't even heard of an oil coated sensor. Also, no white powder on my intake last I checked.
I wouldn't put a drop in K&N filter in any engine but the Full Banks Pack was already on this engine when we bought the MH. The K&N debate is old but like I said, I have no evidence of problems with it in the Banks setup. Even the OEM paper filters let small particulate through by the way.
They claim that the 4r100 benefits from the transcommand and particularly when the engine power is boosted. Of course that is from them and the 4r100 is rated at 1,000 lbs of torque....
